About the role:

We are looking for a Senior IT Technician to provide support for clients and users of computer networks, including infrastructure, file-servers, desktop support, client, and office software.

  • Key to this is that we ensure robust links are maintained with other aspects of our IM&T service at all times to enable further development.
  • An experienced, highly motivated and innovative individual who will be part of a team who are currently working on a replacement device project
  • As part of a team you will be responsible for the day-to-day support to clients and users of computers, peripherals and the network including desktops, laptops, and hand held devices on wired and wireless networks, ensuring both physical and data security is maintained.
  • Experience of working in a MS Windows environment including Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook is essential.
  • In addition experience of Active Directory and Netware e-Directory and the use of remote support tools would be desirable.
  • The Senior IT Technician will be a skilled and experienced member of the Information Technology function with the ability to perform tasks unsupervised but with appropriate technical support.
  • They will be expected to have an enthusiasm for maintaining high quality services.
  • They will have excellent IT skills and a commitment to provide excellent customer service. They will be a team player with a flexible attitude to the day to day work.
  • Experience of providing technical support on client devices including Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications including Outlook email, bespoke and clinical applications.
  • An understanding of LAN and WAN technologies including wireless and infrastructure connectivity.
  • An understanding of Windows Active Directory, GPO’s and remote support tools
  • Experience of working with senior managers and leaders.
  • Understanding of the local NHS structure, strategy, vision and policy.
  • Understanding of project management.
