About the job:

We are regularly seeking administrators/business support officers to fill temporary vacancies within a number of teams/directorates in Northamptonshire County Council.

As an administrator/business support officer, you will provide essential administrative and secretarial support and enable the council to deliver a customer focussed service more effectively.

These roles may vary depending on which team you are placed in and can cover a number of aspects, such as full-time or part-time.

These duties will vary dependent on the team you are working with.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A polite and confident telephone manner
  • An ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines
  • A good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Whilst previous experience in administration or customer service is preferred, excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn are just as valuable.

  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays).
  • Permanent equivalent council pay rates offered after 12 weeks
