About the job:

We are looking for a friendly, supportive and competent member of staff to join the Olympus Care Services within Northamptonshire Adults Social Services. You will work across the residential care homes for older people who are physically frail or are living with dementia or physical disabilities and adults who are aged between 16-65 and have a diagnosed learning disability.

  • Provide a service of care, advice, guidance and support to residents and support to their families;
  • Work alongside multi-agency colleagues to undertake monitoring, care planning and risk assessment to contribute to the safeguarding, health and general wellbeing of vulnerable adults to ensure the day to day experience of the service for residents and families minimises stress and meets their differing support needs;
  • Care for and work with residents who have specific individual needs in relation to verbal and nonverbal communication, management of challenging behaviour, continence, personal and intimate care and medical needs;
  • Work in an environment that can be physically and emotionally challenging, unpredictable and difficult to pace: communicate with families at times of stress and crisis responding in a calm, sensitive and constructive manner, identifying when own coping mechanisms are challenged.
  • We are looking for skilled candidates with minimum 6 months experience in similar role, with an empathetic approach to people and dedicated to helping others.
  • An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care would be an added bonus although not a necessity.

• Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays).

• Permanent equivalent council pay rates offered after 12 weeks
