Opus LGSS on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council, are seeking an experienced Negotiator to review care package solutions that match user needs and outcomes, and achieve value for money to CCC through the application of proven analytical and commercial techniques whilst promoting CCC values.

Working as part of an existing project team, to deliver efficiencies in meeting the council medium term financial plan.

  • Financial
    Negotiate and implement benefits. Track benefits realisations aligned to team savings and cost avoidance agreed targets.Manage provider negotiations using established communications methods, commercial techniques and basic project management technique.
  • Stakeholder
    Agree the key objectives of care package (including new packages and those affected by uplift requests) requirements/provider negotiations with key stakeholders and project sponsors.
    Assure recommendations meet CCC’s statutory and best practice obligations and preferences in addition market specific legislation.
  • Business Process
    Manage negotiations and requests for quotes dealing effectively with risks and contingencies. Maintain accurate records.
    Collaborate with external organisations to gain market knowledge by sharing CCC requirements in a structured way. Include attending provider meetings and forum.

  • CCC senior managers and heads of service
  • Social workers and team leaders
  • Peers from other authorities
  • Professional bodies (up to senior management level)

The successful candidate will ideally be qualified to CIPS or equivalent, have a proven background within contract negotiation, together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience within Public Sector/Social Care/Care Providers would be an advantage.
