About the job:

As a temporary Coroner Service Administrator for Cambridgeshire County Council through Opus LGSS, you will offer administrative support to the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Coroner Service to support the continued delivery of high standards of customer services.

Administration roles work in two main areas, either general administration working across our entire service, or as part of a small dedicated team focusing on Coronial investigations.


This role is for up to three months/whilst looking to recruit permanently.

  • Request reports
  • Manage cases
  •  Undertake general administration – manage post and team emails
  •  Support communications with families and work with other officers

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate an organised and efficient approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Excellent IT skills are required and experience of Case Management Systems would be helpful.

Due to the nature of the work, an understanding for confidentiality is essential together with excellent communication skills. As part of the role, it may be necessary to view photographs of deceased persons and work directly with the recently bereaved.
