About the job:

We are recruiting on behalf of Northamptonshire County Council for the role of Facilities Contract Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the commercial and performance requirements of a property and accommodation solution contract.

This role is based at One Angel Square but travel to sites around the county is an essential part of the job.

  • To ensure Facilities Management continue to provide a first-class service, developing excellent client and service partner relationships
  • The position of Facilities Contracts Manager holds responsibility for contracts and ongoing relationships with suppliers and services, ensuring the provision of statutory compliant and fit for purpose properties to Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire County Councils.
  • Manage all soft facilities Term Maintenance Contracts (TMCs) to ensure the highest standards of delivery are maintained, including full Statutory, Regulatory and Health & Safety compliance, and to report on their performance against specification. Arrange regular meetings with Contractors to discuss their performance and resolve any issues.
  • Work with the Soft FM Manager and Procurement Team to assist specification development and tendering for any of the relevant contracts, and contractual performance and monitoring of the contract within the agreed terms and conditions. Ensure that a range of performance management reports are provided as required ensuring good governance of the contract.
  • Approve the contract budget, revenue and capital (where applicable) identifying and implementing corrective action/s to ensure the contract meets its financial objectives.
  • Prepare changes to the contract and seek approval from the designated Authority Representative.
  • Determine and challenge the financial cost of variations/changes to the contract.
  • Develop, liaise with and improve contractor and client relationships to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Provide professional management and direction to a team of officers and be responsible for ensuring that the range of deliverables is achieved.
  • Responsibility for the performance of the contracts and deliverability of the key contract outputs. Responsibility for the delivery of the contracts within the financial parameters
  • Develop highly effective (strategic) relationships with stakeholders to ensure that Northamptonshire/Cambridgeshire County Councils and partners/clients, objectives and customer expectations are communicated and delivered to a high standard.
  • Based at One Angel Square but travel to sites around the county is an essential part of the role
  • Essential that the candidates holds a full clean driving licence
  • Must have contract management experience
  • Must have Facilities/Estates Management experience
  • Training opportunities available through the apprenticeship scheme.
  • Must have supervisory skills
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays).
