About the job:

We are seeking an Accounts/Finance Assistant to contribute to the effective running of the business support team and deliver a high quality, customer focussed service.

As Finance Assistant you will respond to queries and help maintain the ERP systems supported by LGSS to ensure that these meet statutory requirements and customer needs.

This is a temporary role for an initial three months.

  • Act as first point of contact for LGSS finance systems in order to help system users perform their tasks more effectively, referring difficult problems to functional analysts as appropriate. This will involve performing an initial assessment of the incoming issue, gathering additional information and then using technical knowledge and experience to either resolve basic issues directly or perform escalation to senior Business Systems technical staff as appropriate.
  • Provide Financial Support to the LGSS Business Team
  • Complete account reconciliations
  • Assist with enablement of ERP service delivery, supporting managers and team members as required. Assist with the preparation of user guides in order to enhance learning and provide a source of future reference
  • Knowledge of the Accounting principles
  • Account Reconciliation
  • Experience of a customer focused support / technical environment
  • Debit and Credit of Accounts
  • Sound IT skills, including all Microsoft Office products (at intermediate/advanced level) with experience of either Agresso or
  • Oracle ERP
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays)
  • Permanent equivalent council pay rates offered after 12 weeks
  • 3% pension contribution from employer
