About the job

Cambridgeshire County Council is regularly looking for people with a good knowledge of IT and systems to support their offices with technical and IT queries. This role will also offer the opportunity to learn and develop new skills and provide a critical function within the County Council.

  • Providing technical support on line queries over the phone such as basic PC, printer and software issues
  • Carrying out routine IT maintenance tasks
  • Escalating and reporting issues that cannot be solved by first line support
  • Ensuring that regular electronic housekeeping and software/hardware tasks are performed to reduce issues
  • Ideally some experience in IT and general technical knowledge
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone to people at all levels of the organisation in a polite and professional manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised and able to manage time and prioritise tasks
  • A problem solver who enjoys challenges
  • Ability to work individually but also co-ordinate with the team/managers
  • A willingness to learn
