About the job:

We are seeking a temporary Public Health Executive Project Manager working for Cambridgeshire County Council through Opus LGSS.

You will lead a variety of strategic projects and operational activities on behalf of the Public Health Management Team and undertake project work in support of teams across the directorate who deliver public health functions for Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council.

  • Lead a variety of strategic projects and operational activities on behalf of the Public Health Management Team and undertake project work in support teams across the directorate.
  • Ensure the Public Health Directorate engages appropriately with all other council wide directorates in both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
  • Co-ordinate the public health responses to meet corporate requirements and to manage the directorate risk registers, and identify clear mechanisms to reduce risks.
  • Demonstrate  a commitment to actively challenge existing process and procedure to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Maintain the directorate  Public Health risk register and business continuity plans.
  • An understanding of major services delivered by public health and the NHS.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a multi-disciplinary, professional environment in a complex organisation
  • Experience of strategic planning and programme management in a complex organisation and its impact on resource allocation and its links to achieving priorities
  • Knowledge and experience of working with risk registers
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complicated information to find creative and innovative solutions to manage projects to time, including tasking others and ensuring delivery
  • Ability to analyse, translate, present and disseminate complex information
  • Ability to plan and develop procedures and policy that will deliver an efficient business support function for the directorate

Previous experience working in the public health sector. Degree level in Business Management or other relevant field.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate proven project management skills to undertake specific project work.
