About the Role:

Opus People Solutions are currently looking for Qualified Social Workers to join the Short Term Enablement and Prevention Service Northamptonshire County Council Adult Services for a locum assignment.

You will be an integral part of a busy, vibrant team whose aim is to prevent, reduce and delay the need for further social care interventions. The Teams work with a wide variety of adults whom may have mental health problems, physical and/or learning disabilities.

You will be community-based covering either the South or North of Northamptonshire. For both posts flexible/ agile working is available and you will have a base office in either location to work from when necessary.

  • Optimise the self-caring abilities of customers and promote independence and community living to help minimise the risk of hospitalisation or admission to residential care
  • Ensure timely, safe and appropriate discharges from out of county hospital for service users
  • Complete referrals to community and bed enablement
  • Organise community care packages and residentials packages
  • Carry out assessments, reviews and planning for safeguarding
  • Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team from the health and voluntary sector
  • Ensure that adults who may be at risk of harm are adequately protected in line with relevant legislation
  • Have highly developed knowledge of the Care Act 2014
  • Have experience and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with specialists, support groups and networks to strengthen support available to service users and their families/carer
  • A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in Adult’s services
  • Experience working within a Adult Safeguarding in a Social Care Service and experience with hospital discharge
  • Experience and ability prioritising caseloads and carrying out high quality assessments
  • Current enhanced DBS certificate valid to work with adults, or willingness to complete
  • Social worker qualification at degree level or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Drivers licence and access to own car
  • £400 ‘Golden Hello’* payment for new social workers
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays)
  • 3% pension contribution from employer
  • ‘Refer a Friend’ bonus* – receive £250 for every qualified social worker that you refer who we successfully place
  • Mileage – 45p per mile
