About the job:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Practice Manager to work within the Leaving Care Team for Northamptonshire County Council.

The leaving care team work with care leavers and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children ages 16 to 25 to support them in their transition to adulthood.

  • Mentor and provide high quality care work supervision of staff within the leaving care team to ensure their work meets HCPC standards
  • Contribute to the overall management of the team in order to meet service objectives and targets
  • Organise and delegate the workload of social workers and NQSWs
  • Support and deputise to the team manager as necessary and appropriate
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary context to develop effective working partnerships with other agencies and services
  • Assist the team manager with the induction and supervision of team members within the leaving care service.
  • You will possess a minimum of 18 months post-qualifying experience as a Practice Manager or equivalent level
  • Experience working within a Leaving Care Team
  • Ability and experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff including Newly Qualified Social Workers
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Social worker qualification at degree level or equivalent
  • Driving licence and access to a car
  • HCPC registration
  • Current enhanced DBS certificate valid to work with children or willingness to complete
  • *£400 ‘Golden Hello’ payment for new social workers
  • *’Refer a Friend’ bonus – receive £250 for every qualified social worker that you refer who we successfully place
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays)
  • 3% pension contribution from employer
  • Mileage – 45p per mile
  • *£150 per week accommodation allowance (60+ miles travel) for certain roles
