About the job:

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced social workers to join the diverse and supportive children’s service at Cambridgeshire County Council.

If you are a confident Social Worker looking for a role where you can contribute positively to the lives of children this role is suited to you.

The role is based within the Children’s Child Protection and Proceedings Team based in March and Wisbech.

There are full-time and part-time hours as a job share available.

  • Communicate effectively to allow you to form highly effective working relationships with your team, other professionals and our service users & families,
  • Make informed decisions involving complex and sensitive situations to identify the needs and plan and deliver the appropriate care and support,
  • You will be at the forefront of managing change, undertaking assessments and attending initial court hearings to achieve the best possible outcomes for children, young people and their families in Cambridgeshire.

  • The ability to be organised and meet deadlines,
  • Ability to work autonomously,
  • You will possess highly developed knowledge and experience of Social Work Practice in Child Protection,
  • A commitment to representing our Cambridgeshire Children’s Service and want to be part of a flagship for children service innovation, where you will find creative solutions to challenging situations.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in children’s services,
  • Social Worker qualification at degree level or equivalent,
  • Evidence of continued professional development,
  • HCPC registration,
  • Current enhanced DBS certificate valid to work with children.
