About the job:

We are looking for a dedicated Team Manager to join Northamptonshire County Council’s Disabled Children’s Team for a locum assignment.

You will play an important role in leading, managing and directing the Disabled Children’s Team who work with Northamptonshire families to enable children and young people with complex additional needs to have the same opportunities and experiences as other children and young people. The Team work with Children in Need, Child Protection, Children in Care, Court Care proceeding and permanence.

  • Lead manage and direct the day-to-day operation of the team
  • Allocate Work and prioritise workload across the team, taking case related decisions
  • Recruit, supervise, appraise and develop staff within the team
  • Manage budgets to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
  • Develop and maintain partnership and multi-agency working, in order to ensure that services and agencies work together to effectively
  • Develop and write a team plan which ensures the Disabled Children Team service meets the key objectives and performance targets
  • You will possess a minimum of 18 months post-qualifying experience as a Team Manager
  • A passion and experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Ability and experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff
  • Ability to manage the performance on individuals and the team
  • Budget management skills and experience
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Social worker qualification at degree level or equivalent
  • Driving licence and access to a car
  • HCPC registration
  • Current enhanced DBS certificate valid to work with children or willingness to complete
  • *£400 ‘Golden Hello’ payment for your first placement through us

  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays)
  • 3% pension contribution from employer
  • Mileage – 45p per mile
  • *£150 per week accommodation allowance (60+ miles travel)
